To many, Christmas is the most wonderful time of the year. Reflecting and celebrating the birth of Jesus should indeed be a time of incredible joy.  Yet many of us (including Christians) find ourselves overcommitted, overstimulated, and overwhelmed.

As our calendars overflow with good things like decorating, shopping, partying, and entertaining, it is easy to miss the best thing and metaphorically leave it sitting under the tree unopened.

But when we choose to intentionally unwrap the gift of Christmas (Jesus), we discover a delightful treasure more beautiful than anything we have ever seen and more satisfying than anything we have ever dreamed. Like the missing piece of an intricate puzzle, His love fits perfectly into the holes of our hearts.

As we begin to fully understand this gift, the things of this world matter less. Our perspective changes. We become more grateful, patient, kind and compassionate. We forgive faster and love better. And regardless of our circumstances, we are enabled to experience supernatural, indescribable, joy and peace.

But if we leave the gift unopened (or put it on a shelf), we forfeit what we all want more than anything else: love, joy, and peace.

At the December luncheon, you will learn to:

There is no better time to decide how you will celebrate Christmas this year – and how you will move forward after the decorations are packed away. Will you choose to unwrap the gift or will you leave it sitting under the tree until next year? “And God so loved the world (that means YOU), that He gave His one and only Son (Jesus), that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” John 3:16 (emphasis mine). 

Amanda O. Daniels began her career as a CPA/MBA analyzing numbers in Corporate America but gratefully chose to trade in her briefcase for a diaper bag and invest her skills and talents in her family after giving birth. Determined to leave behind a faith legacy for her daughter, Daniels has spent countless hours discovering the life-changing truth of Jesus which she passionately shares with others. She writes, speaks, leads Bible studies, and mentors other mothers. In addition, she has served on the board of directors for various ministries as well as the board of visitors for UNC Children’s Hospital. Daniels lives in North Carolina with her husband, daughter, and dog, Cupcake.
