James 1:17
“Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father.”

As we kick-off a new ministry season, Knowing God Ministries is committed to helping women make a difference in their corner of the world.

For the 90 women in attendance – we pray YOU made a difference in your marriage this past weekend!  And that you’ll continue to make a difference.

Married for 37 years, Mom of 4 and a Grandmother, our guest speaker, Gwen Brodd addressed the topic of sexual intimacy with great boldness and candor. She did not mince words.  She did not hold back.   She did not cross the line, yet at the same time, she “went there.”

Want a few highlights from her General Session?

  • Sex is a holy act of worship.  It is a gift given by God to a married man and woman.  Hebrews 13:4 says, “Marriage should be honored by all, and the marriage bed kept pure…”
The word “bed” in Greek means “altar.”   A couple’s bedroom is the holy of holies; with the bed as the altar – in God’s sight.  Responding to our husbands physically – it an act of worship.
  • God’s divine plan and purpose for sex between a husband and wife:
  1. To be united into 1 flesh –
  2. Pleasure of the flesh –
  3. Procreation –
  • Tip #1:  Signal:  Gwen encouraged us to have a candle in our bedrooms that serve as a signal. If your husband lights the candle, you need to prepare mentally and physically.  (Shave, wash and clean.)  She says, “This will help your state of mind.”
  • Tip #2:  Frequency – Gwen encouraged us, “Anytime, anywhere, any place.”  Oh, yeah – she said it.
  • Tip #3:  Adjust your schedule to his desires – after 2-3 days, semen begins build up and there is significant pressure.  (Oh yeah, she said that too.)
  • Tip #4:  What to do when he wants it – and you don’t:
  1. Get your mind into it and your body will respond –
  2. Repeat Scripture to yourself: “God’s grace is sufficient.”  “I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength.”
  • Tip #5:  NEVER EVER:  Use sex as a means of getting something or as punishment.

She said much, much, much more.  You’ll have to get the CD to learn more.

After the General Session, one of the KGM Board Members approached me and said, “No one else is talking about this subject.  I’m so glad we are.”

I couldn’t agree more.

Shout-out to the MacGregor Downs
Food and Beverage Staff –   In our attempt to transition to hot-platted lunches, we had 10-12 unexpected dietary restrictions that came up at the last minute on Friday.

MacGregor was on-it!  Without delay; without complaint; without placing blame – they responded quickly – graciously meeting the needs of our guests.

The KGM team is grateful for the grace they bestowed to us.   On our end, we’ll do a better job of preparation in October.

In the meantime – if you are planning a wedding or baby shower, or any other party… I would highly recommend MacGregor.  We’ve been working with them for 2 1/2 years.  Financially, they are fair and they bend-over-backwards to give us top-notch service.

Shout out to Joseph, Linda, Elizabeth, Abigail, and Shaun.  You guys were awesome!
