Psalm 150:2
Praise Him for His acts of power; praise Him for His surpassing greatness.
My heart overflows with gratitude.
Because of your donations, tee sponsorships, gift card donations…
Because of your donation of drinks, snacks, and golf balls…
Because of the prizes you donated and
Because of the people who gave up a day of their time to play and volunteer…
Our tournament was a resounding success! We were amply supplied because of what God did through YOU.

Let me tell you what else God did…
Two days prior to the tournament, central North Carolina experienced record breaking heat.
- Humidity was high.
- Temperatures were high.
- Dew points were high.
This equates to almost overwhelming heat and discomfort at being outside.
BUT the evening before our tournament, in what I believe was much answer to prayer, a cold front came through. It removed the humidity; brought down the dew point and lowered temperatures to a comfortable 70 degrees for our shotgun start at 9am! It was picturesque!
I’m currently reading Joshua in my quiet time. Just as God parted the Jordan River at flood stage and allowed the nation of Israel to walk through on dry ground… I felt like God parted the sweltering heat of summer on June 13th – Allowing our players and volunteers to enjoy a fundraiser for His continued work, in abnormally beautiful, comfortable weather during a season that’s typically hot. As I write today, Tuesday, June 14th, the humidity and heat are back.
Talk about an act of God’s power!
On a very personal note, hosting this golf tournament is not easy for me. It takes every ounce of faith I have to believe God for the players, the prizes, the drinks, the snacks, the sponsorships – all of it.
It takes every ounce of faith I can muster to stand before a mixed group of believers and many unbelievers; men and women and share what the ministry is about. And what they’ve helped support.
But yesterday morning, prior to leaving at 6:30am for the golf courrse, I was reading Joshua 5. This chapter is about Joshua’s encounter with the Commander of the Lord’s Army. (The Preincarnate Christ.) The Lord had already gone ahead of Joshua and the Commander was standing with a drawn sword not far from it’s gates
I felt like the Lord was saying, I’m going ahead of you too, Tara. The God of Angel Armies is by your side. So do not fear. For I’ll stand beside you in the welcome when you offer the prayer. And I’ll stand beside you during the Award Ceremony when you stand and proclaim My Name.
And then He reminded me of all the people in my family participating. (My immediate family, my mom & dad, aunts, uncles; mother in law, father in law, sisters in law, brothers in law, a cousin, a niece. 18 in all )
He reminded me of all of you. Your names went through my mind. (Click HERE to see a list of our sponsors)
This may sound sappy and corny, but it was as if He was showing me the army behind me (you) with Him leading the way.
And He did. I watched Him act on behalf of this ministry. I praise Him for His surpassing greatness.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you for your help in making this event a big success for this ministry.
The golfers had fun:)
