When we Allow How WE FEEL to Keep us From Prayer

Because of Christ and our faith in Him, we can now come fearlessly into God’s Presence assured of His glad welcome. Ephesians 3:12 NLT

When you pray, do you sometimes feel like your prayers are hitting the ceiling?

There are times I feel that way. Perhaps it’s because I don’t feel especially holy. Or maybe I feel like I don’t deserve for God to hear my prayers.

That’s when I have to remind myself of what the Bible says.

When we accept Jesus by faith, He not only gives us heaven when we die and eternal life, but He gives us a personal relationship with Him NOW in this life. He loves us completely and fully. He cares so deeply about the big and small details of our lives. There’s nothing we can do to make Him withhold His love for us.

As we bow our heart before God, the Maker of heaven and earth, we are transported spiritually to the throne of grace. It does not matter how we feel or what we think or what we think we know. What matters is what God says through His Word.

Let us then approach the throne of grace with confidence so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need. Hebrews 4:16

The eyes of the Lord are on the righteous and His ears are attentive to their cry. Psalm 34:15

The Lord is close to all who call on Him, yes, to all who call on Him in truth. Psalm 145:18

Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. James 4:8

Sweet friend, be faithful in prayer. And if you’re anxious, regardless of how you may feel, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6-7
