“You sent abundant rain and refreshed the weary.”
Psalm 68:9
In December, as I was reading my One Year Devotional Bible, Zechariah 10:1 jumped out at me. I immediately thought of our upcoming One Woman (1W) conference scheduled for Spring 2023.
“Ask the Lord for rain in the spring … And He will send showers of rain, so every field becomes a lush pasture.”
Zechariah 10:1
Yes! From that moment, I began to ask the Lord to send “spiritual rain” for our springtime event so that the field of ONE WOMAN would become a lush pasture.
The spiritual warfare leading up to the conference was more intense this year than ever. Yet, my incredible KGM team and board gave so much of themselves, running hard in the months preceding. It was beautiful to witness the body of Christ using their gifts to make 1W as meaningful as possible for the attendees. These women worked tirelessly behind the scenes, with such servant hearts, to prepare the pasture.
And do you know, ONE WOMAN ’23 might have been our best yet!
God sent abundant rain and refreshed the weary (Psalm 68:9). He worked in women’s hearts throughout the day, bringing freedom, healing, and a desire for more of Him. Some women shared with us:
- I’m letting go of my pride. My desire to control.
- I’m giving Him my bitterness and unforgiving heart.
- I’m giving Him my low self-esteem and negative thoughts.
- I surrender guilt, shame, and regret.
- I surrender my husband’s actions to you. That I can trust You will be with me always.
- I surrender ALL OF ME TO GOD; FEAR; SELFLESSNESS; Negative thinking; Insecurity; My past abuse.
- I give You my unforgiveness and stubbornness.
- I surrender comparison; Busy-ness; Distractions.
- I surrender fear, guilt, and self-reliance, and self in general.
- I surrender all my sins; I give my life to live with You.
These responses are just a glimpse into how God worked during 1W. And while I’ve found myself moved by the pain and struggles shared, I praise God for sending His spiritual rain to refresh the weary. He was digging into the deep and hurtful places of women’s lives to bring forth the lasting peace and healing that only He can offer.
ONE WOMAN ’23 was a reminder of why we do we what we do. Hearts are changing. And when hearts change, people change. Families, marriages, and relationships are meaningfully impacted because of the reality of Jesus in a woman’s heart. It’s beautiful to behold.
To all who partner with us, whether as a financial supporter, prayer warrior, volunteer, or otherwise, THANK YOU! You are credited with this fruitfulness as well. To God be all the glory. We praise Him. Truly, He did immeasurably more than we asked or imagined.
