“Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.” Galatians 6:9
Dear Weary Sister,
God sees you. He sees when you bite your tongue, choosing instead grace and mercy. God sees you persevering to be light in this crazy world. He sees your courage to continue fighting the good fight each day.
But like me, do you ever wonder…
- Will my voice be heard among the chaos and confusion?
- Does my small contribution make a difference?
This morning I was discouraged until I found this nugget of truth in my daily reading. God was speaking to Jeremiah in regards to the people of Judah:
“Run up and down every street in Jerusalem,” says the Lord. “Look high and low; search throughout the city! If you can find even one just and honest person, I will not destroy the city.” Jeremiah 5:1
Unfortunately, not one person was found. God was looking for just one…
“I looked for someone who would build up the wall and stand before Me in the gap on behalf of the land so I would not have to destroy it, but I found no one.” Ezekiel 22:30
Again, God was looking for just one…
In Exodus 32, God spared the people of Israel because one man, Moses, boldly stood in the gap and pled for God’s mercy. One man saved an entire nation!
“God looks down from heaven on the entire human race; He looks to see if anyone is truly wise, if anyone seeks God.” Psalm 53:2
Take heart! Our faith and prayers do make a difference. Our voices are heard. And as believers, we can stand in the gap, like Moses, for the broken and lost. We can stand in the gap for our nation. We can pray for those who do not believe or whose faith is on the brink. God promises to hear our prayers.
You matter. Your prayers matter. Please don’t give up, weary friend. We need you. The world needs you and your prayers now more than ever!
