“Though the mountains be shaken and the hills be removed, yet my unfailing love for you will not be shaken nor my covenant of peace be removed.” Isaiah 54:10
I remember always thinking God was mad at me. My thinking was, if you were to weigh my sin on a scale, the bad definitely outweighed the good.
Even though I had repented, I couldn’t help but question God’s love. How could He love someone like me? Certainly, He’s holding a grudge, I’d think.
Then I read Isaiah 54:10. It was as if God leaned out of heaven and said, “Tara, I know all you’ve done. Despite all your sin, My love for you is unfailing and will never be shaken. Nor will your salvation be removed.”
To know that I was loved this much by God, warmed my heart and refreshed my soul. Since reading this verse, I’ve never questioned God’s love for me again.
2. “I have loved you with an everlasting love; I have drawn you with loving-kindness.” Jeremiah 31:3
3. “See, I have engraved you on the palms of My hands; your walls are ever before Me.” Isaiah 49:16
4. “Indeed, the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Don’t be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows.” Luke 12:7
5. “If God is for us, who can be against us? He who did not spare His own Son, but gave Him up for us all – how will He not also, along with Him, graciously give us all things.” Romans 8:31-32
You, too, are loved with an ever-lasting love.
God doesn’t hold grudges. In fact, when we repent of our sin, the Bible says He removes our sin as far as the east is from the west. (Psalm 103:12) We can be assured that no matter what was in our past, it does not have to dictate our future. His unfailing love for us will never be shaken.
So the next time worry or anxiety knocks on the door of your heart… The next time you question if God really loves you, remind yourself that the very hairs of your head are all numbered. You don’t have to be afraid, for God is for you, not against you. Your name is engraved on the palms of His hand.
