“…being confident of this very thing, that He who began a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ.” Philippians 1:6
Did you make resolutions for the New Year? If you did, you are not alone. Many people make them, but few keep them. For the most part, I think we make unrealistic resolutions as we aim too high. Often, we have an all or nothing attitude. When we mess up even a little, we consider it a failure and give up.
I don’t know about you, but it makes me want to never make another resolution!
But maybe, we need to rethink how we approach the changes we want to make in a new year. Instead of unrealistic benchmarks, maybe we should determine areas where we would like to make progress. Areas where we just need to improve. As we see growth in this area, it will spur us on to persevere and see more growth. It’s a win-win situation!
One of the areas that I would like to see growth is in determining God’s call in my life and being obedient to that call. I have a lot of ideas flowing through my head, but I want to know which ones are truly from God. Then I want to obey what He wants me to do.
I don’t know what your goals for this coming year entail.
- Maybe you would like to be more intentional about studying the Bible.
- Or maybe, you need to be around others who will encourage you in your walk with God.
- Or maybe God is calling you to step out in obedience to serve Him in some way.
If any of the above things are on your list, Knowing God Ministries is here to help! We can help you to be more intentional in the personal study of God’s Word. Check out our resources such as Tara’s Prayer Journal and Bible studies.
We’re also offering three studies through our KGM Communities. Each group will study God’s Word every other week. These groups have the added benefit of encouragement, discipleship and prayer support from sisters in Christ. Check out the studies here!
We also want to help you to be obedient to what the Lord may be calling you to in 2017. Tara’s “The Making of a Leader” course will begin in February for those local to the Raleigh area and online in March. More details are here!
We’re excited about all the wonderful ways God is allowing us to minister in the coming year. It is a humbling responsibility, but we hope that we can help you grow in your walk with the Lord in 2017!
