Unless there’s Prayer… These Plans will NEVER Flourish

by | Jul 18, 2016 | Spiritual Growth, Uncategorized

Joshua 13:1, “… there are still very large areas of land to be taken over.”

I spent 12 years in Bible Study Fellowship.  If there’s anything I learned from my tenure, is the importance of prayer.    Evelyn Christenson said it well, “Prayer – not plans and programs – is my most powerful tool.”

KGM is getting ready for major growth.  God gave me a vision years ago for:

  • KGM Communities
  • Speaker team

In addition, in the next three months we’ll be launching:

  • Our 1st Annual Mother/Daughter Getaway
  • A Marriage Series called: “Can y0u Change your Husband?”
  • Continuance of our flagship:  the KGM Luncheon

In the last few months, I’ve sensed in my spirit that the season is now.   In my quiet time study of Joshua, it’s as if God is saying,  “Tara, there’s still very large areas of land to be taken over.”   (Above verse)

In addition to this verse, He recently gave me a visual of hard, unplowed soils in Matthew 13.  There’s soil that’s rocky and shallow.  Plants that grow from this seed are scorched because there is no root.  There’s also thorny soil.  But this seed is choked by the plants that grow around it.

Then there’s good soil.  Soil that tilled.  Soil that’s soft.  Soil that’s ready to produce a crop – a hundred, sixty or thirty times what is sown.

This I KNOW from experience:  unless there’s prayer, the ground for these plans and programs will never flourish.  The seed will be sown upon ground that’s hard, thorny or shallow.  Sadly, our efforts will never produce a fruitful crop.

Therefore, I need prayer warriors.  In fact, I feel we two prayer teams in addition to the KGM Team.

I’ve never done this before.  It feels kind of weird putting it out on my blog like this.  Very unconventional.  But this is how I’ve sensed God prompting me.

If you have:

  • A love for Jesus
  • A love for the vision He’s given KGM.  Our vision:  To changes lives, to change families, to change generations ONE WOMAN at time by equipping them to make a difference in their corner of the world.
  • A love for me, personally
  • A desire and a gift of prayer…

KGM needs you.

The prayer teams:

  1. One for KGM plans, programs, team, staff and Board.
  2. One for me, personally.

Time commitment:

  • Weekly:  Receiving prayer requests via email.  Praying individually over those requests.  (Hour or less commitment)
  • Monthly:  Coming together corporately to pray with others on the team.  (Hour commitment)
  • Annual commitment: August – July

You may be thinking why two prayer teams and why one for me personally.     Here’s the answer:  anytime you’re attempting to do anything for God… Anytime you’re doing anything to grow His kingdom with the gospel of Jesus, there is a very real enemy that wants none of that.  1 Peter 5:8 says, “Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour.”

He doesn’t want new ground taken.  He doesn’t want lives and hearts, and families changed.   But to the person or organization that’s advancing the gospel, in the invisible realm, you become a target for the enemy.   He is totally dedicated to destroying relationships, our witness, our ministries and our families.  He does not play fair.

Prayer is the battle.  Prayer is what tills the rough ground so that the soil of the heart is softened.   Prayer is what will change the lives of women, their marriages and their families.   If there’s ever a time that women and families need Jesus and the reality of the gospel in their everyday life – it’s now.

This is a calling.  Contact me if your heart is beating wildly as you read this and you know instinctively God is calling you to join His work in KGM.  Indicate which team He’s calling you to.

Our team is praying over who He handpicks.  Can’t wait to hear from you.  You are desperately needed.
